25th Restaurant in the world with a water menu. 1st in Africa.
In October 2021, I had the opportunity to partner with Joburg’s hottest new restaurant in curating a water menu that offered a collection of waters for taste. It was here, that the water menu was birthed – Mizu. Mizu; translated as water, in Japanese. This is currently the most extensive water menu to date within the country and is synergetic to the contemporary Japanese way of sourcing natural ingredients and natural water.
The project incorporated water service etiquette training and dedicated water stemware, elevating water service within South Africa, and pioneering change within the industry to give water value and recognize this as a beverage.
Not all spring waters are made equal. Due to the unique depth of the source and the mineral composition of the layers through which it passes, Jana has a specific purity and impeccable mineral composition. After a thousand-year journey to the 800 m deep source, Jana patiently awaits for its primordial, pristine pureness and impeccable mineral composition to be discovered.
In 2022, Candice Jansen was asked to endorse JANA water. The brand film would be broadcast across TV and other mediums across Croatia in their endeavour to educate the public on the differences between mineral water and sparkling water.
The short form was produced in South Africa due to time constraints and limitations with travel to Croatia at the time, however, the project was a huge success and there are plans in the near future to continue marketing Jana along with Saatchi & Saatchi.
In 2022, I had the incredible opportunity to taste vodka with SKYY and host a water-tasting event for them. Comparing their two unique recipes “the old and the new”. Highlighting and showcasing the differences between the two recipes after the brand changed its recipe to include “pacific minerals” which has enhanced the flavour profile of SKYY VODKA.
